Welcome to the women’s running community, the 261 Fearless Club DC Metro!
Welcome to 261 Fearless Club DC Metro. We invite all women 18 and over to join us regardless of age and running ability. We provide a noncompetitive, nonjudgmental social running club that meets once a week at two active locations on Sundays and Wednesdays for a one-hour running holiday. It’s all about women supporting women to share empowerment and confidence. We play games like tag and relays with much laughter so we get a workout without even realizing it.
We are a DC and surrounding area social running club connected to a global network of women through digital a communication platform, education program and social events. The nonprofit organization, 261 Fearless, Inc., was cofounded by Kathrine Switzer and named after her bib number in the 1967 Boston Marathon. Over the last 58 years, many women have told Kathrine that 261 came to mean fearlessness in the face of adversity.

First 261 Club Meet Run Checklist
A list of important necessities to consider when attending your first 261 run:
Comfortable Clothes
Just wear something you can move freely in, there’s no need for Lycra or technical fabrics. Layers are good so you can take them on or off according to how hot you feel.
Running Shoes
Any brand and any age will do, dig out the sports shoes from the back of the closet. You can invest in a new pair once you’ve got started.
Sports Bra
If you have one; our coaches will be able to advise you if you don’t. In the meantime, just wear the most supportive bra you have and perhaps a tight fitting shirt too to give extra support.
Is it raining?
Bring a waterproof coat and something dry to pull on afterwards.
Is it cold?
Wear a hat and gloves, a light scarf can be a good idea too.
Is it hot and sunny?
Grab a cap, sunglasses, sunscreen and a bottle of water.
