261 Fearless Club MidTN

Welcome to 261 Fearless Club MidTN!

261 Fearless is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that supports a global community of women who are interested in running at all levels. Every woman is invited to join, from those at the head of the pack to those starting to run and all levels in between. We don't run for time or distance - we run for fun!

The number of 261 is Katherine Switzer’s bib number from the 1967 Boston Marathon. She protected the bib while an angry race director attacked her in the second mile and tried to rip the number off her shirt. He was infuriated that a woman had entered his race, declaring it was a men's only event. Katherine got away from the official, thanks to help from her teammates. She went on the finish the race. Katherine has taken 261 to represent strength, community, and empowerment for all women.

Check our social media pages for date and times for our Meet Runs -  we get together to learn about running technique and more through games, laughter and movement.  Come and join us!

Find your fearless - and run and laugh with us!

BECOME A COACH AND TELL HER SHE CAN!

There are ladies throughout our community who believe they can't run or are fearful to try. Because the benefits are endless, we need your help in helping others find the strength and empowerment running can provide. If you're someone who has discovered the power of running within your own life, we invite you to consider sharing your story with others through coaching. Coaches organize and lead weekly Meet Runs, delivering the 261 Fearless program of social, non competitive running for women. Previous coaching or extensive running/racing experience is not required, rather women are sought who are passionate about the activity and are able to embody the 261 Fearless mission of empowering women towards it. All coaches are certified through 261 Fearless' Train the Trainer program and maintain certification through ongoing education opportunities. Interested in learning more?
