Artificial Intelligence (AI) can feel like a scary topic. People are worried it might take over their jobs, and it’s hard to determine if images and videos we see are real or AI generated. It might also be that we have no idea what it really is or how we would even start using it. Like it or not, AI is here to stay and will be creeping into more aspects of our life so it’s important to know about it.
At 261 Fearless, we have an ongoing education program for our Coaches. We use this to help them keep up to date with hot topics that might affect their role as a 261 Coach but also their everyday work and home lives too. We invited award winning content producer and IT expert, Daniel Gollner, to lead an online webinar for our global community of 261 Coaches to explain all about AI. We wanted to share his answers to some of the questions we posed to him!
261: What is Artificial Intelligence (AI)?
Daniel: It’s a software that thinks. It’s a kind of search engine that summarizes all the pages that might be interesting for you. It’s based on data and it learns from data. It doesn’t have its own intrinsic intelligence… yet.
261: How does AI work?
Daniel: AI uses millions of text samples to understand how the world works. It learns through these. It recognizes and predicts patterns so it can make predictions. Think of it like your very intellectual assistant who has read a lot of books.
261: What can AI do?
Daniel: It can write text and translate it too. It can create images that look so real you can’t tell the difference between an AI generated one and a normal one. It can also plan, organise, analyse and give suggestions. It can give inspiration, create content, images and music.
261: What can AI NOT do?
Daniel: AI can’t act independently. It can’t guarantee facts, it can never know what is true and what is not. AI won’t be able to replace human beings; it only works because it’s driven by a human. It is not an expert, nor a lawyer and it can’t replace a doctor and make a diagnosis – it can help but it can’t replace.
261: Is there anything we should be careful of?
Daniel: Remember approximately every third answer is wrong so don’t rely on it for important information. Don’t share your private, personal data on free AI platforms.
261: What’s the best way to get started with AI?
Daniel: Just have a go at using one of the tools. There are so many: you might have heard of ChatGPT, but you can also try Gemini, Claude or Perplexity. There are specific AI tools for creating images, videos and music. It also helps to create a Master Prompt. This is information all about you that AI will need to give you the best answers. You can create this on a PDF and upload it to any AI tool you use. You can even ask AI what it needs to know about you to be able to answer your question or complete your task, which will help you create your Master Prompt. Just start writing and give it lots of information about what you want from it. If it doesn’t give you the right information, then keep asking it questions and telling it what is important for you. You can even tell AI how you want it to communicate with you, do you want it to be direct and challenging or kind and motivating?
We all felt much more informed after the class and a bit more fearless about exploring new technology. Coaches were asked to feedback one thing they would use AI for in their role as a Coach and one in their home or work life. We’re curious to see what they come up with! What is your opinion on AI and have you used it?
