COVID-19 can’t stop us! 261 Fearless Clubs around the world keep moving

A 261 Club meet run is a weekly workout session open to women of all abilities, backgrounds and age groups. Women can join their local community in the one-hour meet run to socialize, stay active and keep healthy. However, current restrictions due to COVID-19 have put our in-person meet runs on hold. The global organization 261 Fearless Inc. has responded by offering weekly workouts via zoom and our local 261 Clubs are additionally supporting their members.

On three different continents and in four different countries our 261 Clubs and their 261 Coaches – all of them volunteering – are offering virtual workouts exclusively to their members. Keeping in touch with the group helps women to cope with isolation and physical distancing. More importantly, the regular workouts support women in staying active and healthy during these challenging times.

This is what women say about the virtual workouts

Our members are grateful for this opportunity and rely on this regular structure when nothing is predictable anymore:

“Meeting with amazing women for my first 261 Fearless meetup has enlightened me and moved me beyond words!”

Having a regular virtual meet run also creates a sense of normality that is lacking in times of change and drastic transformation:

“It is great to be able to still have our normal weekly meet run virtually when everything else has changed. It provides a sense of normality and really does give me hope and motivation in these tough times.”

Our 261 Coaches are well aware of the benefit the activity offers and are willing to invest their time:

“I set up the virtual workout to maintain a sense of community and connection during a time when we are physically separated and in need of support. I know it has been helping me, and I hope it has been helping others as well.” – 261 Coach Sarah Dukler of 261 Club Greater New York

Optimal running technique for women: How to run healthily and efficiently!

Generally, women have a wider pelvis and shorter limbs, and therefore they have different anatomical requirements for running than men. The wider pelvis for example can mean that women tend to have a X-leg position, which can increase the risk of injury. That’s why adapting our running technique is particularly important in order to run…
