Every movement has a beginning.
Ours began with one woman who refused to step off the course.
Kathrine Switzer’s historic run in the 1967 Boston Marathon challenged more than a race. It challenged what women were told they could and couldn’t do. Her determination transformed bib number 261 into a symbol of courage, resilience, and possibility.
Nearly 60 years later, that same spirit lives on through 261 Fearless. Every day, women around the world are discovering that running is about so much more than miles. It’s about building confidence, finding community, developing leadership, and creating lasting change. We call this the 261 Effect.
Because running is just the beginning.
Watch ‘How We Became Fearless‘ to see how one fearless moment sparked a global movement that’s changing lives.
