“My Favorite Item” – Tips from our 261 Fearless Team

Heidi, Quality Manager of the 261 Fearless Education Program, is originally from New York and lives in Minnesota with two children Garrett and Audie. Today she’s sharing her favorite items from Amazon for us – we can’t wait to hear more!

iRobot Vacuum

If there’s one thing I dislike about housekeeping, it’s keeping up with the pet hair and dust on the floor, under beds and couches, and in all those little nooks and crannies. Recently, I finally made the decision to invest in a robotic vacuum, and it is the BEST decision I’ve ever made! I went for a mid-range model that was rated for pet hair pick up, but there are a lot of options out there. Definitely do your research to decide which is right for you.

Massage Gun

Even before quarantine, I rarely took the time out of my day for self-care like massages. They’re expensive and time consuming! But, with this hand-held massage gun, it’s like the masseuse now lives next to me on my couch! Even my young children love this tool, and I’ve taught them how to use it on my shoulders and back for instant muscle relief. Again, there are a lot of massage gun models out there with a very large range in prices. Read the reviews and specs to decide which is right for you.

Ab Wheel

I’m sure you’ve heard the advice that you should take periodic breaks during your work day, especially if you have a job that requires you to sit in front of a computer most of the day. Many health advocates recommend incorporating some physical movement into those breaks, and an ab wheel is a great, portable little tool you can use for a quick core workout at just about any time and just about anywhere!

Foam Roller

There are so many benefits to foam rolling, from helping with acute muscle tension to longer term mobility and muscle recovery. And you can target multiple muscle groups, from your legs to your low back to your lats. I use mine daily!

A good book

It’s cheating a little because I’m not recommending one specific book, but if there’s something to put in your shopping cart soon, it’s a new book. I recommend checking out Amazon’s “Best of” reading lists from the Amazon Books editors!

How Muscles Work During Speed —The Science of Fast Movement

Speed is not just effort. It’s neuromuscular precision. Every fast movement — sprinting, jumping, quick direction changes —  depends on how efficiently your muscles and nervous system work together. The Brain Starts the Movement Speed begins in the nervous system. When you move quickly, your brain sends rapid electrical signals to your muscles. The faster and more coordinated…
