Connection, Learning & Fresh Inspiration!
The 261 Club NZ coaches gathered in Rotorua for our annual refresher weekend – a few days filled with connection, adventure, learning, and quality time together. We began by joining the local community at Puarenga parkrun, a welcoming course that winds alongside a natural geothermal landscape. The unmistakeable sulphur scent (an acquired taste!) was easily balanced by the stunning scenery and friendly atmosphere.
From there, our weekend shifted into full adventure mode. Together we explored the Whakarewarewa forest trails on foot and by bike, putting our navigation skills, resilience, and teamwork into practice. The mix of challenge, encouragement, and laughter reminded us why social running is such a powerful tool for empowerment.
A key part of the weekend was also dedicated to brushing up on our running technique and coaching skills. These refreshers help us continue offering a safe, supportive, and fun experience for women at our weekly 261 Club NZ Meet Runs. They ensure we show up confidently for our members and help every woman take that next fearless step.
We also carved out time to look ahead, working together on a strategic plan to guide 261 Club NZ into the coming year. It was energising to share ideas, refine our goals, and map out ways to strengthen our community and reach more women across Aotearoa.
We wrapped up our time together with a relaxed run around beautiful Tikitapu / Blue Lake, followed by a refreshing dip in its crystal-clear water – the perfect finish to a full and uplifting weekend. Tired legs but full hearts, our coaches left Rotorua recharged, inspired, and ready for everything the year ahead will bring.
