Auckland runners had a day to remember as Kathrine Switzer, the co-founder of 261 Fearless Inc and one of running’s most iconic women, paid them a visit to welcome new members to the club and celebrate the power of running together. Under the warm Auckland sun, 40 women gathered for a fun warmup, followed by a walk / jog and a lively coffee chat with the iconic trailblazer herself.
One of Auckland’s new coaches summed up the experience perfectly: ‘I feel incredibly lucky to be involved with 261 Fearless Inc. It’s not every day you meet your heroes – and even rarer when they turn out to be even more inspiring in person.’
