Every year we bring together all our Coaches from around the UK for a weekend of sharing, learning and fun.
Being together in person is so much more powerful than meeting over Zoom. You can just feel that special 261 magic in the room.
Our Coaches are women who volunteer their time to lead weekly Meet Runs in their local communities so that women can have a safe, pressure-free space to run without judgement. In addition to that, they commit to ongoing education on a vast array of topics that help them to be strong leaders, teach running technique and be aware of the barriers to exercise that women face. We are so grateful for them!
This year we had a wonderful venue at the Army Reserve Centre in Leicester. We had indoor and outdoor space, a classroom and the all important kitchen to make cups of tea!
After a welcome and a fun ice-breaker game we held the AGM with reports from all the different groups and the over all Club UK report too. Then we had an educational slot where the coaches heard all about training and measuring their own fitness, followed by a practical to put it into practice! The weekend also included a social, chatty run, a 261 Ambassador panel talk, a series of fun ‘command tasks’ (we were in an army building after all) and a meal out. Dotted through the weekend there were lots of games because it wouldn’t be 261 without the games. The creativity of our Coaches always amazes us.
Everyone had a great time and we all left full of motivation, inspiration and that 261 magic. We’re already looking forward to next year!
