Testing the adizero three-quarter tights in the Mediterranean

Our 261 Friend Josie from Malta got the chance to exclusively test and review a product from our sponsor adidas.

I was overjoyed to learn that I had been chosen to product test some running gear provided to Fearless 261 by adidas. But this joy was a bit dampened when I found out that the item I was to test was the adizero three-quarter running tights.

Not because of the product itself, but being a curvy women that makes the most of the Mediterranean lifestyle, I was a pro at hiding my voluptuous backside and thighs. Now, I was being asked to go out running with running tights which had prints right on the parts of my body that I normally prefer to cover up.

I played it safe and asked for a Large size, UK 16 – 18 and boy was I glad that I did that because once I opened the small package, I was amazed at how small something “Large” could be.

However, the soft feel of the leggings did prompt me to try them on immediately. Unlike other leggings, they slipped on like a glove. It was as if I had another layer of skin. I bravely walked towards my bedroom mirror and was astounded to find that the deep blue material with black prints down the side of my muscular legs actually had a very slimming effect. I was eager to take them out for a run but decided to wait until the following day. As an early morning runner, I didn’t want to jeopardise the product trial by changing the time of my daily run.

Running in Summer is never comfortable in Malta – not even at 6am! Light materials are a must and it all needs to be strategically placed on the right parts of your body to avoid chafing. I was a bit sceptical about running in tights in the middle of August. However, I can safely say that the adizero three-quarter running tights supported me well during my run. There were no visible sweat patches after my 5k and the material didn’t feel heavy at all. There was also very limited jiggle at the back due to the engineered sculpture of the item.  Personally, if I had to make my own purchase, I would have chosen the black version of these tights at full length since I prefer the elongated look of a leg, rather than the cropped version. While I loved the material and the print design, I was not too happy about the tie up lace around the waist since I prefer elasticated waistbands, especially when I’m running. But other than that, I am extremely happy with my adizero tights.  Highly recommended, especially for women with a curvy bottom half due to their overall slimming effect.

Thank you for this review, Josie!
