Checklist for your first virtual #261fearLESStogether Meet Run

Joining a virtual #261fearLESStogether Meet Run for the first time can be a daunting prospect, there are so many fears and barriers that might hold you back. We want to reassure you. We understand!

We don’t want you to miss out on the joy of running and being a part of the 261 Fearless community during the Covid-19 pandemic so here are five reasons why you don’t need to worry and why you should join us:

We won’t judge you – No matter what your running ability or experience, you will be welcomed our international 261 Fearless Coach leading the session. We don’t mind how you look or what you wear, how much you sweat or how slow you go. There will always be options and adaptations for different abilities so there’s no need to worry. You can turn off your video function if you don’t want people to see you exercising.

We won’t laugh at your questions – So many issues crop up when you’re joining an online session, no one will ever snigger at your questions. We’ll guide you through the routines, good exercise technique, how to stretch, the list goes on. No one expects you to know anything and everyone will be delighted to share their knowledge and personal experiences. We’ll also happily guide you through any technical problems.

We’ll look after you – Our coaches receive high-quality training and ongoing education. We want you to enjoy healthy running and be able to get past the lung-busting first steps, so our coaches use games, drills and exercises specifically designed to help you run correctly, safely and injury free. Even if you can’t run outside at the moment these activities will make sure you’re in great condition for when you can.

We’ll support you – A 261 Fearless Club is a community of women who want to support and encourage each other to be healthy and active. You will be amazed at how much it helps to have others who believe you can do it and motivate and spur you on. We’ve all doubted ourselves and lacked confidence in the past. Let us guide and support you.

There’s a whole world waiting for you – Joining our international virtual meetrun is just the beginning. 261 Fearless is a global community connecting, educating and empowering women around the world. There are endless opportunities and ways to be involved. Just be fearless and take the first step.

First 261 Virtual Meetrun Checklist

Are you feeling a bit nervous about joining your first virtual meetrun and unsure what to expect? These tips will help and reassure you:

Comfortable clothes. Just wear something you can move freely in, there’s no need for Lycra or technical fabrics. You get much warmer exercising indoors so a single layer is all you need.

Trainers. You can do all our online activities in bare feet but if you prefer to be in shoes then any brand or any age of trainer or pump will do, there’s no need to invest in a new pair.

Sports bra. We’ll be doing a lot of bouncing up and down so if you have a sports bra then wear it. If you don’t then just wear the most supportive bra you have and perhaps a tight fitting vest too to give extra support

How much space do I need? Our activities are designed for a very small space. As long as there’s room for you to lie down on the floor and stretch out your arms and legs then you’ll be fine.

Do I need anything else? Have a glass of water to hand. There’s no need for headphones or fancy gym equipment. Our coaches might ask you to grab some tin cans from the kitchen to use as weights and you can use a towel or blanket for floor work if you want.

What if I get stuck with the technology? You can email us beforehand with any questions. During the session we have a coach giving live advice using the chat function on the screen. You can use a phone, tablet or computer to join our meetruns.
